Firestick & Sony KD-55XD8599 since last software update my Picture Mode box is greyed out cannot select different modes ie Cinema etc. when using HDMI Firestick input.

Hi @cyprus-dodger the last update released on your TV was on the 07/04/2021, is that the version that you updated your TV to recently PKG 5.457?
Can you try and reset picture settings? Picture settings → Advanced settings → Reset → and select Reset and follow the steps provided here

Hi Elodin thank you for your reply the software version that was updated is PKG5 417 . 0177EUBB I have done all the suggested settings and done a factory reset but the same issues remain with Firestick installed in HDMI 1 the Picture More settings box and the Auto Picture Mode box are greyed out and I cannot click on them to change the settings. I have Bein Sports Satallite package coming off Satallite Dish in HDMI 2 when using Bein I can change the Picture Mode settings but with the Firestick no. I have attached picture.

Hi @cyprus-dodger I am only guessing here, but setting (or playing) an HDR Video probably fixes the picture mode to HDR. HDR is a special mode enhancing your picture so other picture modes would simply spoil it or the TV cannot handle the corruption. I would try turning off HDR Video format on your Firestick, like changing it to 4K SDR.

Hi @cyprus-dodger That is a question for Amazon support. However HDR will give you the best possible picture available. Is there any particular reason that you want to change the picture mode?

Your TV is included in that list if you click the View All Applicable models text you will see your TV model.

It is in the last column third from the bottom.

The link I posted earlier is a direct link to the downloads page for your model of TV the model number

of your TV is in the text of the link.

If you look at the very top of the page on the left you will see your TV model number.

You say your TV is up to date, are you sure as the version number you quoted earlier is lower

than the version available from the link I posted.

If you are only checking for software updates via the Software Update mechanism on the TV

this can be unreliable at times.

Hi Lightfoot & all the other guys who help with advise and Info - I did the upgrade to v5.457 as suggested went perfectly, after the upgrade checked the Picture Mode and had the same greyed out boxes so when back into the Firestick settings and finally discovered the reason for this ....... in the Dynamic Range Settings section the HDMI setting was in "Always in HDR" I changed the setting to the only other setting available "Adaptive" and that sorted it immediately I got back my Picture Mode function.
