I have done a factory reset on my Xperia M4 Aqua 2 days ago. Initially I could set sound and Notifications preferences, but when I wanted to change it, I could not access it. When I select Sounds and Notifications in the Settings menu, it jumps back to Home screen every time.

Hi @Tieddle, welcome to our forum and I'm sorry to hear about this.

Do you get any error messages at all when you tap on "Sounds and notifications", or do you just end up at the home screen again?

If you have started to install applications again in the phone after the factory reset, try rebooting your phone in safe mode and see if you can access this menu when third party applications aren't loaded.

Should you experience the same behaviour while the phone is rebooted in safe mode, try and reset the Settings application in your phone. You can do that in Settings > Apps > three dots in the top right corner > Show system > scroll down and find "Settings" > Storage > Clear data.

Let me know how it goes!

Hi again!

Oh, I see, you are using an earlier Android version that is why you do not have the option to show system.

In that cause, I would recommend that you start with updating your phone using a computer and the Xperia Companion program which is available for both Windows and MacOS.

You can also go back to Settings > Apps and scroll from right to left until you see "All" > scroll down and find "Settings" > Clear data > OK.

Should you still experience the same behaviour after doing the above, try performing a software repair using Xperia Companion. Do note that this will delete all data stored on the internal storage, so creating a backup using Xperia Companion is advised.

Let me know how it goes!
