Screen lock settings on my Xperia aqua m4 dual

After updating to Marshmallow As soon as i select screen lock settings in security settings my settings stop working. Unfortunately settings has stopped, this is the message i get when i click on screen lock settings and i can no longer set a screen lock to my phone

Sorry top hear you're having this problem

Can you test your phone in safe mode and see if you are then able to change the lock screen without an error?

Thanks for the solution @ChloeS

But no it didn't work. 😐 i got a new probelm. My phone goes in a loop. It keeps turning on and off again and again. The restart process takes atleast 15-20 minutes to show my home screen. The white screen with sony written in midde of the screen stays and goes in a loop atleast for 15-20 minutes. After a while then my phone shows me the home screen. I did reset my phone but it too didn't work. 😐😐

When you say you reset the phone, how did you do this? Did you perform a factory data reset through the settings on the phone?
