topic Hard reset of Sony Xperia M4 Aqua in M Series

On entering the topic-title line a list of similar topics popped up. I read these but they did not help with my problem.

I need the hard reset to fix a forgotten password/pattern condition. There is no valueable data on the phone, so a hard (factory) reset is OK.

I tried this:

- standard Hard Android reset (Turn off M4; Turn on by Press Power+Volume) does not work. The M4 ignores this and performs a normal start. No recovery menu pops up.

I have read that the Xperia Companion PC software-repair can be used for reset, but as far as I understand then the Google account details must be used/entered during the process. In my case, the Sony Xperia M4 does not know about my Google account details and Google account does not know about my Xperia M4.

I urgently need to use the Sony Xperia M4.
What do I do?
