Windows Explorer Crashed when I try to perform a Software Update

I received an email from orange the other day saying there was an update available for my phone through the Sony PC Companion.

I have tried updating but it is making windows explorer crash every time I try so I am getting no where :smileysad:.

Steps:

1. Plug in phone to computer

2. Go to Devices and Printers

3. Click Xperia S

4. Click Software Update

5. Select my phone

6. Click Check For Updates

7. - This is where it crashes - It says preparing for update and then windows explorer crashes and opens back up immediately.

Windows 7 - 64bit

Latest Java update

I have tried after restarting my machine and phone as well - still no joy.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Are you sure its windows explorer crashing ?

What browser are you using ?

I run Firefox nightly (beta) and it does this, although IE9 works fine

Still doesn't help me get 0.73 any quicker

I am using chrome, but I have IE9 installed. So if i set my default to IE9 it might work?
