Remove chinese data

I just bough a sony xperia arc s, My native language is Farsi and I have added that in the setting/language/writing international blah blah, but when I want to type a new message there is only chinese and english available, chinese is everywhere in this cell and I want to completely remove it. even in the home menu the gallery is written in chinese, that is so annoying to me.

I have not updated my phone to 4 yet and I'm not planning to do it for a few weeks ahead until I get it straight

is you Xperia chinese? if it is that's the reason it's all in chinese. why don't you want to update your phone?

open the messaging app -> tap on the input box -> tap on the wrench icon -> select language -> look for your language

It's not all chinese but the manuals are chinese (unfortunately) and I didn't find out the icon you mentioned, there is a screen shot of my messaging!!!

and there is another screen shot of my home where the gallery is in chinese and I want to return it to english

ok lets try this

settings -> scroll down until you see a keyboard "Language & Keyboard" -> the first option "Select Language -> select your language

now on the same page -> Xperia keyboard -> writing languages -> select your language

or you can flash the Global Generic firmware

In the same page there is no language, so guess I go flashing the phone, just to be sure is that safe to do it for me? I have no experience in doing that can I screw something?

Will be ok if I just upgrade to android 4? or this chinese stuff sticks through the update?

you can't really brick your phone, if something goes wrong just start all over again, if you update to ICS it will be chinese if you don't debrand. just watch the videos, its simple

Can you please link me the 2.3.4 global version? the one in your tutorial is 4 and I don't want to move to it yet, I heared there are some problems with that, like missing wifi etc

ah, I mistaken the build number with android version :smileygrin: okey I'm downloading flash tool and the firmware to see if I can get released from this stupid thing or no?

ok I've downloaded the latest version of flashtool and the version of android you have been mentioned, but when I run the flashtool the branding is two squares!!! I'm afraid this does not return the phone in the chinese stuff again

I don't understand what is wrong with this one? It says the debug mode is off when but it's checked!!!! it seems that changes I make in the options does not take effect!! What should I do now?

Anytime, keep an eye on this work in progress thread, so you can flash Android 4.0.4 (not the buggy 4.0.3) it will be released next week (last week of May)
