Can't view messages

Hi there, i took the battery out of my phone because it wasn't charging (turned out it was because the power was out). Anyway i put the battery back in and now i can't recieve text messages, i recieve the notification for them and so i click to view but they have dissapeared from my inbox so i have no idea what any of my messages say. It's really annoying as i rely on my phone heavily and not being able to read messages makes using the phone really difficult.

remove the battery again, w/o the battery press and hold the power button for few seconds -> put it back on -> turn on your phone

see if the problem is fixed

Hi, thanks for replying so quickly but i am afraid it didn't work. I still can't access any of the messages i was sent during the day, i had a message sent to be not more than 20 minutes ago however it's not showing in the inbox at all.

you probably have too many SMS/MMS in your messaging app and that's creating issues, the other option is to

settings -> applications -> manage applications -> messaging -> clear everything but this will delete all your sms/mms

Thanks i deleted all the messages but the ones i sent today which were hiding at the bottom of the inbox for some reason (i think i will have to fix that, not sure what started it). The messages i recieved today still aren't there, for example my boyfriend sent me a message and i can see what it says in the preview however when i click on it to read more it has dissapeared.

it could be an app acting up, you could backup everything then repair it with SUS or PCC

Ok i can recieve messages now but they are appearing in the middle of my inbox instead of the top. It's really weird and i'm not sure why it's doing it, but it's better than not being able to read the text's at all.

Yes thank you it has sorted it out, i backed up contacts and the importent stuff and scrapped the rest. it probably was an app that was messing with it but it works now anyway. Thank you ever so much for your help, my phone is very important to me and i would be a bit stuck without it.
