"Line busy, "Call retrieved"- can't call someone?

My mum and I both have the Sony Xperia XA phone. Not long after we got them, we started having issues calling each other. When I call her, it says, "line busy", and hangs up. When she calls me, it says "call retrieved", and hangs up. The only person the phone does this to is her- I can make and recieve calls from anyone else. Has anyone else has this issue? Is it a network or a phone issue?

I'm very sorry for the late reply to your post. Are you and your mom still experiencing this behaviour?

When you are calling each other, are you doing this using a contact in the phone or by typing in the number on the dialer pad? If you are calling each other using a contact in the phone, try and type the number with the dialer pad and see if there is any change.

You can also check the call settings in your phone, you will find them in Settings > Call > Additional Settings > Call waiting, try disabling this if it's activated.

I would recommend that reboot your phone in safe mode and that you place a call to your mom when third party applications aren't loaded.

If you have another SIM card or if you can borrow one in the same size as yours and use that in your phone for a short while to call your mom that would also be great!

am having the exact same problem i can ring everyone else but when i try to ring my mums number it just says line busy when its not

Hi @damian1977, sorry to hear about this and I apologize for the late reply.

If your mom is using a device with an inbuilt call blocking service or application, make sure that your number has not been added to this list.

You can also try and type in her number without using the contact in your device from the dialer pad in the phone application.
