I had this problem after I turned on the phone since last Wednesday.

Everytime I turn off and then turn on or restart the phone, the phone does not start. I have to press and hold both the volume up and power buttons for the vibration to start the phone.

I have put the card into my old M4 Aqua phone and I can access it. I have also put it in a USB adapter and I can access it using my computer. When I put it back into my XA1 phone, the "Preparing SD card, Checking for errors" notification apprears and I cannot access the card.

I have tried:

-error checking the card using the computer, but there was no error

-blowing into the SD card slot and cleaning the card

-formatting the card using the computer, and then again using the phone

-factory resetting the phone

-software repairing the phone

When after I did the formatting and restarted the phone, the "SD card for transferring photos and media" notification appears. I used the USB cable to connect it to the computer and put some pictures in it. After unplugging it from the computer, I could access the card and see the pictures. But after I restarted the phone, the same problem happens and I cannot access the card.

I haven't got another SD card, but for now, as a temporary solution, I have put the contents in the internal storage of the phone.

Thanks for replying!

I am facing the same issue after I changed my 32Gb sd card to a 64Gb sd card. Could it be the make of sd card that is causing the issue?
