Hi

I reluctantly replaced my Samsung Galaxy S2 with an Xperia T, as there was saltwater damage with the S2 & the NatWest Advantage Gold's insurance company would not replace it with an S3. I am sure that it is not as bad as it appear,s from my first impressions, for example, I have discovered that the camera seems pretty good.

A couple of questions about this phone:

Is it possible to remove Sony bloatware, such a Walkman, Music Unlimited, Timescape, etc? Removing them from the Home Screen is easy but I know, of course, that Google bloatware is there for good, but can the Sony bloatware be permanently removed from the phone?

Can the Home Screen Contact widget be reduced in size, preferably with a photo only?

I presume this Xperia is not waterproof, as the usb socket is exposed

Is there any way that Samsung Kies backups can be restored to the Xperia? I could not copy the S2 contacts, etc, as my old phone was collected by the delivery driver & Google's contacts are not complete, nor up to date, for some reason

What is the best way to use the Xperia as an Internet provider for my laptop?

Cheers

Bob

2. No, unfortunately not.

4. Not sure, but in some cases it's possible to extract backups to get the contact/calendar files out. You should be able to import these files to gmail and get the contacts out. Not sure how this works with samsung backups.

Do you like the phone? Perhaps it will grow on me! I will be out of my Vodafone contract in a few months & can upgrade to something more suitable for me, if I do not start appreciating the phone.

Cheers

Bob
