ICS update problem

hi, i can not update my xperia sola from gingerbred to ICS. i connected it by sony companion and update service. but it shows that "your phone is up to date". pl inform me how will update my sola.

Well, if PC Companion and Update Service says you already have the latest version ICS might not be released for your device. There are several other threads taking care of these issues, use the search box in the top right corner.

most likely at this point its not up to Sony but your region and/or carrier.

if i update manually, may i have to face any problem in the future or may i get the latest available software automically? will it be a original ICS?

you will get updates not based on your current SI number but on the new firmware, you can still use PCC or SUS or even OTA updates.

know that flashing "could" void your warranty this varies per country, region and/or network

what should i do? will i wait for ICS? or i do manually? i bought it from Saudi Arab and using in Bangladesh. So here is no warrenty issue. Pl ensure me that if i do it manually do i have to face any software problem? or i will wait for ICS? i dont know what do u mean by carrier and PCC/SUS.

pl give me suggetion, what should i do?

PCC = PC Companion

SUS = Sony Update Service

it's up to you if you want to wait or manually flash your phone.

if you flash your phone there shouldn't be any software issues as it's the same Sony's firmware.

if I were you I would

backup the current firwmware
flash my phone to ICS
repair the phone (reinstall the software) with SUS
mark the Correct Answers & Helpful Answers
