Change Device(mobile) name for wi-fi use ?

Hi everyone,

I have bought Sony Xperia S couple of weeks ago. my problem is related with wifi connection.

when i connects to any wifi then it shows my mobile names as android_xxxxxx , i want to change it to some specific name but not succed. is this possible on to do on this mobile. if yes then please give me some idea.

You mean change name for your phone Wifi Hotspot?

If you Mean the name in Clients List on Your Router, NO That Cannot BE Changed...not just in this phone, but all Phones, Android, BB, Ios, windows Mobile, everywhere.

And i dont Any need of changing it.? why do you want to change it anyways?

Thank you XperiaSadi for your reply, i mean exactly what you said.

system admin uses name filtering so , any mobile with name Android will be blocked from accessing the internet. so i need to change this name as anything other than android. according to you it is impossible ?

Not the Hotspot name,

look at the reply of XperiaSadi007, it is what i want. is there any way to do this .. any help will be praiseworthy ..
