Problem with browsing using wi-fi

I got my x10 mini pro today but cannot get my phone to work with my home network. It's says it's connected but when I try to use the browser,facebook etc it won't load pages (these are only working through mobile internet). Does anyone know how I can fix this?

I've seen on other forums that some Android phones don't like symbols in the router password, is that what you mean?. This is not the problem here though...

I changed my wifi router recently and am using the default (or randomly-generated) user name and passwords. With mine, there is the name of the network (let's called it sushidushi) as well as the name with 'guest' after it. To be honest, I am not sure why the guest account appears, but I have fiddled with it in response to your query and notice that I can't download anything on the phone connected to 'sushidushi-guest', but the one connected to plain sushidushi is fully functional. Could it be something similar with yours...?

In my particular case, the phone searched for available networks, so I didn't have to type the name in, but changing to the non-guest version solved the problem. I just thought gthat the original poster might be running in to the same issue. I find wifi routers can be a pain. I bought one about nine months ago and it would never quite work properly. I had to reset it almost every time I wanted to connect the laptop or phone to it. Occasionally it would be fine, and at other times, it would throw me out very few minutes. It might just have been a setting, but I tried all sorts of things and nothing would work. In the end, I just bought another router, and that is working beautifully (now that I know not to use the guest account!).

My router only has the "name" not "name-guest" so that's not the problem.

I've downloaded a Wi-Fi Manager App and that's saying I'm connected and have full signal strength...

What IP address is the phone given by the router?

Check that under.

Menu > Settings > Wireless and networks > Wi-Fi settings > Click on the network that you are connected to and check that you've got a valid IP address for Internet access.

Hi, here's the same problem with my satio. And just now I've found solution, maybe it works on your x10 too. Finally solved it by accessing advanced settings once connected to my network > disabling automatic configuration and then disabling Power Saving. Please note the part ONCE CONNECTED TO MY NETWORK, so prior to proceeding with other advanced settings make sure that you are connected to your wi-fi network (even though you get the "no gateway" message if you try browsing). Please tell me if it works for you. good luck

There are no power saving settings for Wi-Fi on X10. I suggest you check your router settings. Make sure that your phone is not blocked by any MAC filter.

Because it seems to me that it might be blocked by a MAC filter or similar.

Just to confirm whether it is a phone or router issue, try connecting to another Wi-Fi network.
