Xperia Z keeps switching itself on and off incessantly

Hi,

My phone has all of a sudden just started to turn itself off and back on again constantly, I have just rebooted it by holding down volume and power it and it has thankfully not switched itself back on, is there any way this can be fixed? I have not plugged it into the charger as this causes the prpblem to continue.

Do you have any battery saver,task killers,antivirus?Boot your phone into safe mode,see if that occurs:

I have got it into safe mode but it still keeps switching itself on and off, at one stage I switched it off again and it made a high pitch frequency noise and the screen faded a bit like an old television exploding, it was like something out of a horror movie, I have got mcafee antivirus on there but can't get the phone to stay on for long enough to get rid of it.

Download sony update service and attempt a repair(make sure your battery is at least 60% and backup your important data,because it will erase phone memory).

What is the best way to back up my data? this is proving difficult as the window which the phone is active is really tight as it keeps turning on and off

I experienced such behavior on my Xperia Arc S when water got into the power button. I allowed my phone to dry for 2 days before it became normal.

Although Z is a water resistant but did you submerged it in water or like that ?

I'd say try to run your phone without sim card to see if it works.

Had absolutely no water near my phone whatsoever, it has me baffled, if I had dropped it on the pavement or had it in the shower I would admit to it and would feel a bit guilty but its started malfunctioning completely at its own accord, it has been sent away to be repaired now, it became even more inactive after the software was updated.

nabeel my cellphone Sony xperia z dropped into shower last nite and after that I updated it to new version 4.4.4 after that I also repaired it from Sony PC comparison but it still turning on n off again and again

My m5 has suddenly started to turn on/off. Done a full repair and still keeps doing it. It re boots, half way through it crashes, then starts normal again, then turns itself back off again. I think it's a battery problem. Its just randomly started. Why?

My phone software updated and now turns off anytime I start a app or do anything. I didn't even get asked about updating the software. Android version 5.1.1 have sony broke my phone with this update?

My z5 premium had a system update and since then it has been switching itself on and off constantly did a factory reset and same thing is happening.my phone is 3 months old and contract company say it's my fault and won't replace it got it for another 18 month any idea how to fix this

I now need to put the phone on its charging dock to get it to turn on and it does the android is optimising application each time. The battery is showing at 90%. what has sony done to my phone.

Ami3 did you get it as a new phone? if you did phone them and ask if they have ever heard of the sale of goods act if they still refuse to help go to trading standards.
