For SW2 distance about 5 meters is quite stable distance. In my home it often works up to 8 meters from my phone. Of course sometimes connection is lost but it highly depends on the phone firmware. I had phones where connection were dropped quite often and after firmware update it wasn't.

Also if you have some kind of power saving features enabled be sure that you put SmartWatch software into exceptions list.

If you find connect/disconnect vibrations annoying you can disable them. On your SmartWatch go into Settings up. Tap on the left side of "Notifications" and then uncheck vibration on connect and disconnect.

The SW2 firmware is up-to-date. The bluetooth is erratic at only 2-3 feet distance.
