Thank you for looking at my problem.

Unfortunately a smartwatch reset doesn't change anything. I tried it several times.

It's most likely a problem with the SmartConnect software. I don't know, if the smartwatch is supposed to be "unpaired" immediately after I paired my phone with it in its bluetooth device list. Some Youtube videos about the topic suggest otherwise.

However, my defined test event in SC ("Smartwatch connected -> Show Homescreen") is successfully triggered when the SW2 is paired.

Regards,

Frank Burkhardt

Smartwatch SW2 Pairing

Dear everyone,

I just received my brand new SW2 Smartwatch. It works fine with an Asus Transformer TF101 tablet but the idea was to use it with my mobile phone. However, there is a problem with the pairing process.

The phone is a Huawei Ascend G700. I followed all the instructions (Smart Connect is installed, Smartwatch is on, ...) but when I select the SW2 on the phone's bluetooth device list, it is shown as a paired device for ~ 2 seconds and is returned to the list of "available devices" afterwards.

The SW2 will show a screen indicating a successful connect (a Watch, a "check" sign and a mobile phone) afterwards and freezes. It seems to wait for something. According to my experience with the TF101 it seems to wait for a signal from Smartconnect. SC doesn't seem to get notified about the SW2 after pairing. SC won't show in the notification dropdown menu of the phone either.

Is there a way to debug or fix this or should I return the SW2? I could try a LG Moto 360 but'd rather stick to the SW2 whose rectangular design I prefer.

Some data:

 * Android version on the G700: 4.2.1

 * Smartwatch Software: 1.0.B.5.28/1.0.A.4.11

 * Smartwatch Hardware: 419(STM32F42/2), Rev: 1003

Thank you in advance for any hints or solutions.

Regards,

Frank

It sounds like your phone is not saving the pairing for some reason. Even if you don't have Smart Connect and SW2 installed the watch should be listed under paired devices in the phone when you add it. As long as there's no pairing in the phone with the watch, Smart Connect and SW2 will not be able to connect to the watch.

Try removing any other bluetooth devices that you may have paired with the phone and also turn off WiFi and see if that helps.

I managed to pair the SW2 somehow after killing some processes that were running. However, I'm not sure, which processes exactly since I was in a hurry to use the watch. It is however still a problem to reconnect it after the connection was lost.

Glad to hear that you managed to pair the watch.

From what you are describing it sounds like you may have an app installed that causes issues for bluetooth in your phone since it helped to kill some running processes. Though i'm not sure what kind of app that could cause issues for bluetooth. Could you perhaps try it again and kill one process at the time to find it?
