Update issue

today i received a new update msg in my xperia e3 it shows the update number 18.4.A.2.13 when i checked the sony website it shows the latest update as 18.4.C.1.29.. although i tried my update through pc the update is getting downloaded more than 1gb.. is really the update is as much big ??

1gb is not a problem already i a have updated my mobile at that time too the update was this much big this time too its same thats y am asking and also i m really in confused state about the update mentioned in the website and update showing in my mobile ..

Xperia E 3 has different models like D2202, D2203, D2206, D2243 etc.
Check your model and ask Sony when your model will get an update. All models somewhat differ in features like support to 4G/LTE. Apparently, Sony is seling them in a same manner and at same price without informing customers about their capabilities and software builds.

If you are updating from your phone then the update size is usually low but when you are updating the same using a PC then the update is around 800MB. No matter what you are updating. Because your computer prepares for the entire firmware not just the update.

Xperia E1 Update problems

I'm trying to update to the 20.1.A,2,13 build but when I go to update it in pc companion it says it cannot find Sony Update Engine and to install it. I clicked the link but it did nothing and then it said that the service was discontinued. I found a version to download but whenever I try to open it it doesn't do anything. Any help would be appreciated.

Even i am unable to update my Xperia to the version 20.1.A.2.13. I am able to download it in my update center but when i click on install it says could not install try again.

Very disappointed with Sony.

Have you tried updating using your phone update center? What happens?

@sachin4u i tried installing the update it got successfully updated and installed on my phone while updating through update center the update is only about 37mb.. if u get error try clearing some of the internal memory and try install it once again..
