Hi

I have just purchased an M4 Aqua dual today from the retail shop and I am having an issue with the proximity sensor.

1. As soon as I make a call, the screen shuts off. I have to press the power button to restart it.

2. Sometimes, the screen stays on, but as soon as I bring the phone near my ear, the sceen shuts off but does not start when i remove it away from my ear.

3. I did the proximity sensor diagnostic test and the phone started to vibrate even before I put it down on a flat surface... its like the proximity sensor is always on and detects an input.

4. I have performed the factory reset and even updated the phone... but the problem persists.

5. I am not using any case on my phone. Only a transparent tempered glass screen protector.

Kindly advise how I should process. Should I return the phone and ask for a replacement... it has not even been 12 hours since I purchased it and it is already showing an issue.

Best.

Hi

I have updated it via PCC... but the problem still persists.

I have a transparent tempered glass cover which does cover the sensor, but i doubt it should be an issue since i have used phones before that have the cover.

I would suspect the tempered glass cover in this case. It should have a hole in it for the proximity sensor.

Keep your screen awake longer. Go to SETTINGS >DISPLAY > SLEEP > select a longer time period. Your phone comes with a very short default time setting.

I had a tempered glass cover, and screen went black when made a whatsapp call (had to wait for call to end before i could do anything with phone). Took cover off and then worked. I noted that dirty had built up by sensor hole.(not sure if this caused problem?)

I too have same problem. I have updated with PCC & no screen cover. Both proximity sensor and ambient light sensor are not working. I purchased M4 aqua dual 1 week back
