Won't transfer or Back up to my external SD card

I have searched the forums and couldn't find an answer my problem.

When my Z1 gets to 75% storage it offers me the option to transfer media to my SD card. but when I accept that i would like to do that it then comes up with a message that the transfer has been interupted. i Tried this with another SD card to help check for faults, but it came back with the same results. I tried both SD cards in other devices and there is no problem with data transfer.

I also tried doing a file move through several file manages within my device and still no joy. It sometimes says the card my be locked, but as stated on all my other devices this is not an issue.

I can't say for sure exactlly this has been happening (possibly a couple of months). I don't really want to lose all my data so a solution that doesnt involve wiping my phone would be nice to start with.

Hi,

Do you have some application that's installed (for backup ?)

If you can post a screen shot of the message that will help

How much data are you trying to transfer? is it a movie or large file?

Do you experience the same if you use the File Commander app to transfer files from the Internal Storage to the SD card?

Not much data really. About 20 photos was the last effort, but it denies it instantly. It didn't used to.

Hi Phy,

Yes ive tried File Commander as well as 2 or 3 3rd party apps. It only appears to do it on the device. Even when I go through the PC and explorer as a removable drive i can transfer.

Have you encrypted the SD card?

If I have then I don't know how. Also would that not make it so it doesn't work in another device. I also tried a seperate SD card so unless the slot / port can be encrypted i would have guessed its not that.

Boot on safe mode and check if you are able to transfer files.

Test other SD cards, and it doesn't hurt to try on safe mode as suggested.

It appears I can transfer files in Safe mode. Last night i did a repair on my phone and flashed the firmware through Companion. This is the first time a file has transfer to my SD card through my device.

Ok so it's not a preloaded app creating this issue but another third-party app
