Hi guys, just awhile ago,i went to the pool and took some pictures with my Z1. The pool was 8ft low only. not sure if that is 1 meter deep, but i believe it's not. Now,i am having this problem that my phone doesn't charge anymore i think because it has been 10 minutes charging already and yet still stuck at 0%. When i took some pictures underwater,i made sure every panels of the phone is closed and yes it is,but when i got up,the phone says that the SD card is unmounted, but the cover for the SD card is closed and i'm sure about it. Does anybody know if i can fix this phone alone or i really have to bring this to the service center? Thanks guys!

Hi,

Sorry to hear. Did you have the phone at the bottom of the pool? Because 8 ft is above the specification for IP-class 58.

I suggest that you disconnect the phone from any kind of power source, hold the ON/OFF + volume up(+) button for 5-10 seconds. When this is done, connect the phone to the charger via the wall socket and let it charge for 1-2 hours. If the battery is completely flat, it can take a longer time before the phone powers on and/or inidicates charging.

Otherwise, you would do best by visiting nearest service center to have the phone examined by a technician. You can contact your local support team for further information about nearest service center and/or how to proceed with this in the best possible way:
http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/contactUs/

Did you let the phone charge for a longer time after you held down the ON/OFF + volume up(+) button? You should let the phone charge for a longer time before you try to power it on after this. But if it still wont power on, you would do best by visiting nearest service center to have the phone examined.

charging issues since update to 5.0.2

I updated my Z1 couple of days ago and since then my phone will no longer charge using my old charger. When i got the phone from o2 it didnt come with a charger (some eco initiative) so i used my old htc one which has been perfectly fine until i did the update. Now it doesnt charge at all and i know the charger works fine as have tested it on an old phone. However when my husband got the Z3 that actually came with a charger of its own. He once tried using my charger and it didnt work but realised that his new charger had a different power outage to my one. So today i tried using his Z3 charger on my phone and that works perfectly!! Does this mean that the new update requiries a different charge power now? If thats the case, then surely we should be supplied with suitable chargers??
