Cracked screen repair cost

Hi there,

I cracked the screen on my Z2 tablet. Display still works but touch doesnt.

I can send it back for repair but can anyone suggest what the cost might be for this? Sony wont give me any clue, I have to send it back and pay £36 just for them to look at it then they will tell me the cost.

Basically if anyone has any experience of this I just want to know if its worth sending back or will they charge me hundreds so I might as well buy a new one? I understand the price could vary but a rough ball park would do.

Any help appreciated, I really want to keep my Z2 if I can..

You will have to wait for them, sony, to give you an estimate.

So I did some research and found it would cost between £170-£200 to get it fixed by an unofficial repair shop. The problem is the screen is glued together so a whole new panel is need to fix it.

I would imagine it would cost at least this much or probably more to get it fixed officially by Sony.

It would be helpful if Sony could give an estimate, other manufacturers are able to do it why not Sony. I would rather get it fixed officially by Sony as its still in warranty but I dont want to pay £35 just for them to give me an estimate.

I dont really expect much from Sony though, their support has always been poor. I was going to get a Z5 Compact but I seen on the forum all the trouble people are having. So I skipped it and bought something else.
