Microphone issues

For the past couple of weeks I have had issues with the microphone on my f3115. when making calls the person on the other end only hears me very muffled unless I put them on speaker phone. Also videos have very quiet sound recordings.

I have tried in safe mode, same problem.

When I run diagnostics the microphone works fine.

I have read on really old posts about a similar issue being fixed by deselecting the noise reduction option in call settings, but this is missing on my phone. I can search for it in settings and it comes up on the search results but when I select it it isn't in the list of options.

Does your phone has a protective case, film and/or glass that might be blocking the mic?

have you exposed your phone to water and/or steam?

Hi @Genchan,

Welcome to the community.

It may sound silly but, how are you holding your phone? The Microphone is on the bottom, it's just a small hole. If you are covering that with your finger, you will get the issue you are facing. Also make sure there's no lint or debris stuck in that hole.

Microphone stops working suddenly, voice recording and video recording work though but when i call someone they can't hear. I tried safe mode but atill doesn't work. Please help me.

Can you try to check on xperia diagnostics

Settings, about phone, diagnostics

If you recently updated you can try to perform software repair using xperia companion

I am having some speaker issues. When I was in call caller voice on the other hand is not hearing after 2 min of call. I was facing this problem since latest software update of 105.
After that I have reset my phone to factory settings.

Neither the problem was solved and some UI based animations graphics are missing after factory reset.

Please suggest me on this

Yes, I am having the same issue on my phone. When in a call, sometimes after a seconds, sometimes after a minute or two, I stop hearing the other party. I was thinking to do a factory reset... I hope it will help if not..I am taking the phone back at the reseller to claim a waranty malfunction.
