Problems with microphone

Hello, i have a problem with the microphone of my Xperia M4aqua. It becomes failed few days ago. I can hear Everybody but nobody can hear me. I desactivated all the functions to improve the voice. I traid to use in secure mode but It the secure mode never appear. I dont know what to do.

Hi @Ynes1, I am very sorry to hear that.

With secure mode, are you referring to safe mode? Please lick the blue highlighted text for a in-depth step-by-step guide on how to reboot to safe mode. Try to see if you experience the same behaviour in that mode.

In addition, could you test the microphone in Diagnostics to see if it sounds better there? To do so, go to Settings > About phone > Diagnostics > Test > Microphone.

Hello again. The microphone is failing again. Yesterday it worked ok but today is failing. I did the diagnostic and I couldn't hear my own voice. I did it again in the sale mode and nothing. What can I do?

Now you are unable to hear it in safe mode as well? In that case I recommend that you try performing a software repair using Xperia Companion to see if that helps.

M4 Aqua problem microphone not working

My phone Sony m4 aqua E2333. The microphone not functioning properly, nobody can hear me on the other end. I re-installed the OS and it problem still persists

It is failing the diagnostics test, i have switched of the Microphone noise supression and also done a factory reset. the problem still persists. Please help.

In this case I agree with the suggestion posted by @uliwooly in that it would be best to send it in for servicing. The easiest way to do so is to get in touch with your Local support, they can assist you further.

I'm sorry to hear that.

Are you experiencing the same behaviour if you test the microphone in Diagnostics as @uliwooly suggested? Should this test fail my guess is that this is related to hardware rather than software, there are however a few more things to try in order to try and rule that out.

First of all, if your phone is in a cover, case or something similar, try removing this to rule out the cover blocking the microphone being the cause behind this.

The above leads to my next question, was there any change if you rebooted your phone to safe mode? If not, my next recommendation would be to perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. Unfortunately this will reset your phone, make sure to create a backup before performing the repair. You can create a backup either directly in the phone (under Settings > Backup & restore) or by using the Backup function in Xperia Companion.

Speaker and mic issue during calls

Hello I'm facing an annoying problem with my m4 dual aqua,
So during calls people can hear me but i hear nothing or sometimes i hear noise and when turned on the speaker (audio output) i can hear them well but they can't !! , i hope there's a solution as i can't make calls without my handfree

Perform a service test on the microphone and earphones and speakers. Either through the Diagnostic app or in service menu

Also, one time I did something stupid like muting my handset and handsfree. Check the incall audio settings so it's not something stupid like that.

Ok after repeating the service test the mic works now when turning on speaker and my voice can be heard meanwhile the earphones still couldn't be heard
