Yes. It is frustrating.

In my case the bluetooth devices also show up as paired but not connected. Only changes status to connected when I turn on the bluetooth device. Obviously bluetooth should also be enabled on the phone.

It is strange that the phone suddenly is not able to work with the bluetooth.

I assumed that you have obviously tried to pair with the parrot bluetooth unit right.

I don't have a parrot bluetooth unit so can't comment on it.

The options I can think off right now are :

1) Perform a software/firmware repiar using PC Companion

2) Downgrade to v2.1 again

3) Use another Car bluetooth unit.

For 2) Have a look through the following posts to see how to flash the firmware back to v2.1.

http://talk.sonyericsson.com/thread/19735
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=92074

For 3) Get another one that works with the phone. I have a SE Car Bluetooth Unit, ie the HCB-150 model. It works even with the new SE phones.

This is the best portable Car Bluetooth unit I have used. The sad thing is that it is a discontinued item. I believe you can still find new ones for sale on eBay.

I bought a couple of spare ones knowing I won't be able to get them anymore in the future

I'm having similar issues with my Xperia ZQ. After OS 4.4. update my bluetooth stopped working properly. It pairs, but does not connect.

Other devices are working just fine with my car's stereo. Before 4.4. my cellphone also was working well.

This is very disappointing and I believe I will have to reinstall 4.3...
