1) Disable SwiftKey
2) Install another keyboard (Gbeard for example)

3) Be happy, less rage

1) On XZ Premium, it cannot be disabled (only after installing an another one)

2) Nice to offer Gboard instead, Gboard tracks ALL(!) your typings. Including Private Banking, Accounts, etc informations... Gboard is a KEYLOGGER (almost as dangerous as a virus)!

2a) I tried to install several keyboards (downloaded from Google Play Store), they are NOT WORKING on XZ Premium (i tried several indie keyboards, and some bigger corporations' keyboards, for example ASUS's keyboard. Non of them works.

2b) Where is Sony's own keyboard? Why it is unable to download Xperia keyboard on an Xperia phone?!?!? There aren't Sony (typing)products on Google Play Store! Why?

3) I had Xperia Z and Z1 before, and now, i have XZ Premium. Best series among mobile phones ("all-resistant" Z is the best), why Sony ruining their own products with agressive(!) word-suggestions? SwiftKey could be a good product, IF(!) that suggestion bar become "uncheckable" in the options!

4) 90% of the users' rage is against that agressive suggestion bar, that OVERWRITES our sentences! (Whoa... wait a minute! That is NOT a suggestion bar any more! That is an overwriting bar! So, the rage is against the agressivity that bar pushes on us!)

5) Learn once for all: Users DO NOT LIKE agressive products! We call them MALWARES...

Peace.

I liked xperia keyboard much more. I understand that development of it costs but swiftkey isn't by far as beautiful and simple to use as swiftkey. Especially switching between different languages and emoticons are better in xperia keyboard. Also emoticons were more beutiful.

Ican only agree. The Xperia keyboard is a beautiful product, SwiftKey simply can't compete. Sideloading the Xperia keyboard .apk was one of the first things I did after receiving my phone. I really hope Sony will rethink the decision to discontinue it.

Yeah, that's a mystery. It has worked like a charm for me for several months now. I figure it's measure to discourage users from getting used to it, thus avoiding too much of a sh*t storm when/if it gets pulled from the store altogether. Only speculations is course, but I see no point at all otherwise.

I have had a few problems recently overheating and running out of battery, wether it was the "Google keyboard" causing the battery to run low very quickly or the hardware I am not sure, but after switching to the "Xperia keyboard" as the default, my battery is running much better, and the multi taps are reducing, I believe the google keyboard is not suitable for this phone at the moment.

The first time i switched to the Xperia keyboard the device had a much better battery life (which changed shortly after - as above), many factors could have influenced this effect (i was running in safe mode temporarily) The battery life has doubled since build # 297 so I am no longer committing such drastic changes, i would have stayed with the SwiftKey keyboard if the battery didnt drain so quickly, the keyboard is in use by all applications my only guess was the keyboard did not agree with the operating system's sleep mode (/in particular applications) so time to try another keyboard manager.
