Hi,

there's an issue (lag? slowly playing?) when playing any video (using stock player or mx player with hw decoder) with those encoding details

Format : AVC
Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec
Format profile : High@L3.1
Format settings, CABAC : Yes
Format settings, ReFrames : 5 frames
Codec ID : V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC

Frame rate mode : Constant
Frame rate : 23.976 (24000/1001) fps
Color space : YUV

Writing library : x264 core 148 r2762 90a61ec

any video with other than those is fine

and yes i've tried software repair, factory reset and safe mode still the same.

same videos played without any issue on Marshmallow, so any idea to fix this? (sorry for my english)

EDIT: the extension of all videos which is lagging is MKV

Hi @XperaUser93 and @Newsh23, I'm sorry to hear this.

Would it be possible for any of you to capture this in a bug report? I can then forward it internally for investigation.

To do this:

1. Go to Settings > About phone > Build number, tap 7 times on the build number.
2. Go back and select Developer options then turn on "USB debugging".
3. Select Logger buffer size and change it to "4 M"
4. Restart your phone, then replicate the issue
5. Go back to Settings > Developer options, select "Take bug report" followed by "Interactive bug report".

When the report is ready you will receive a notification. Tap the notification to share it. I suggest you upload it to Google Drive and then choose to share a public link to the upload and include the link in the PM.

It would also be very helpful if it would be possible for you to share a short clip (1 minute or so) that this can be reproduced with.

Hi, I'm having the exact same issue on my Z5P after the nougat update.

Tested the videos on my dad's Z5P too and it was the same there aswell.

All videos with .h264 and .h265 codec plays slowly with so much stutter.

I haven't had this issue on previous android versions and also tried software repair and reset factory with no hope.

Sony if you hear me, i think it's the multimedia chipset software issue, because MX player can play videos nicely in SW decoder which only uses CPU but HW decoder which use multimedia chipset plays laggy just the same as Album app.

My phone model is E6833 and rom region is Middle-East.

Please help us,

Thanks.
