System UI keeps crashing apps

Day 2 of everything crashing. Managed to get FB to work, not important but everything else is. been to Google helpdesk .

Followed the two suggested updates, restarted phone but nothing has changed.

Hi,

Please update the Google Webview app via Play Store - this should fix the issue.

Some people reporting the Play store keeps showing "pending" and doesn't actually update, if that happens for you, just restart your phone or clear the Play store's cache.

Hi Joe,

I have just updated ALL of the apps through the App store. Restarted phone and let it run uninterupted for a few minutes, as not to upset it!!

All seems fine now. Thanks for the advice!!

It'd be really helpful to others with the same issue if you mark this thread as solved now (I've seen multiple people complain about this on Twitter since yesterday).

The Google app update worked for me a day after the initial wave of this error being reported. BUT it came back again 2 days later.

For the next week the phone would frequently go blank and then reboot when scrolling down what used to be called "Google Now" (the news feed to the left of the home screen)

To fix it, Google told me to clear the cache and data for both the Google app & Chrome on the phone.

Since then I have had no blank screen freeze reboots and the phone is not slightly lagging like it had started doing.
