Hi.

My Z2 has gotten stuck in a boot loop, where it boots up, gets to the login screen, then I can start an app for example SMS messages and it hangs shortly after that, then reboots. And variations of this theme happen after that, and the phone is unusable.

I bought the phone in 2014, but the repair guys say this isn't covered by the warranty, so they'll have to charge me to reinstall (flash?) the software.

Is this something I can do myself? And can I do it on Linux?

Thanks,

Morten

Hi @morphexx,

I'm sorry to hear this. I recommend that you try to temporarily remove any SIM and SD card from your device to see if they may be causing this behavior.

If you are still experiencing the same behavior you can do a software repair using Xperia Companion. Note that you can only use Xperia Companion with a computer running Mac or Windows computer, using Mac OS version 10.11 or later and Windows 7 or later.

Let me know how it goes.
