Z3 Compact Battery Life

Hi,<br>I recently purchased my Z3 Compact brand new from ebay as it was an unanted upgrade. The phone when i unboxed it was astonashing, it told me my battery would last around 2 days and thats without stamina.<br><br>However 6 days later(today) I went to power management, with no apps running in the background and 100% battery however it is saying it will only last 7 hours?! Is this normal because my friend has a Z1 and he uses his alot and his estimated time from 100% is about 2 days?? WHy is mine only 7 hours? Any replies would be great! Thanks

Hi,

I have a problem with my phone. My parents gave me like the phone like a present. The first day I charged it and it was amazing all was good the estimated life of the battery was about 3 days but the next day when my phone was with 0% of battery and i charged it the estimated life of the battery was about 24hours only 1 day. So serious...

It's new it has 2 days what can I do because the battery life is going quickly. I had put the automatic bright and that things and i didnt install apps only clash of clans. Onlu fpr one app 2 days less of battery ?

The estimated battery life is just that, Estimated - The time is based on your usage so the more you use it like playing games then the battery time will decrease and the less you use it for games etc the higher the time will become

Then check power management to see what is using your battery or turn on Stamina mode

Simple, if you play games, sync multiple accounts, etc it will drain your battery quite fast do this

charge your phone 100% > use it as you normally would > once it reaches 10% go to

settings > power management > battery > take a screenshot of

1. the list

2. tap on the graph and take a screenshot

3. tap on the top 4 items on the list and take a screenshot of each

Any ideas on why exactly im only being estimated a short time of battery life?

That's normal, you had the screen on most of those 7 hours, I don't see any issues, remember games will drain your battery fast, you can see that

1. your carrier/network coverage its terrible, that drain your battery fast

2. you had WiFI on all the time, and your phone or some apps were downloading/uploading

3. you were playing minecraft

4. your screen was on for most of those 7 hours

Ah, If i stop the downloading, uploading, minecraft to a certain limit will my estimated time go up?

Not necessarily, it could but the reason the battery gets drained the most is if the screen is on/lit up. As along as the screen is on it doesn't matter what you are doing, even if the phone is just placed on a table with the screen lit up, the battery will continue to drain substantially.

This app on playstore resolved the issue for me , lots of people say it doesnt do anything and i thought it seemed wierd as why doesn it want you to turn on location services ?

i was scepticle but wanted to try before i investigated the services constantly in use listed in (developer optuions > Process Stats > menu > stats type > Background ) manually

bottom line this does do something, as after running it for the first time my phone actually went to sleep (check in battery stats 'awake time') ( i also didnt charge to 100% just ran it )

my phone was taken off charge at 05:50 today, by 11 am (when i performed the fix )it was at 75%, looking now at almost 16:00 im at 62% and i have used it quite a bit this afternoon too so its a definate improvement , i know its going to last so much longer now that it goes to sleep !

Battery usage in standby has increased since the update so now I get a day and a half rather than two. Phone is setup the same way, I use it in stamina mode with a similar amount of apps allowed net access. Before the update it would use a maximum of 5% overnight on standby, it now uses around 15%. I now have to either charge it for a short while the next day or have it on anightly charge cycle. I thought the update would increase efficiency rather than decrease it. Unless anyone knows any optimisations.
