Browser (small app) error

Hi.

Recently my Small Browser is giving me an ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED error everytime I try to load anything. Instantly. As soon as I hit "Go", bam, error. It's like it's not even trying to load, it just tosses the error.

Funny thing though, if I go to its own settings and clear history, when I go back to the app the page I was trying to load (usually a Google search) simply loads. BUT if I click on a link (a search result), bam. Error.

Did anyone experience this? Any idea on how to solve it?

Oh, I forgot to add, Chrome works just fine.

Please try another USB cable and see if the issue persists. I recommend you make a seperate thread for your issue to get better support

Yes, I read it. You can add additional small apps which is why I am checking.

Can you please try your device in safe mode and see if the same issue occurs?

In addition, please read the discussion guidelines about multiple accounts.

In safe mode there is no small browser. Calculator, Music, Touch Block, Active Clip™, Bookmarks and Timer are there, but no browser. I can't find it on Play Store either...

If an app is not available in safe mode it would indicate that it is a third party application. Unfortunately I can only provide limited support for third party apps. Often, putting your phone into safe mode is enough to get an app to function correctly as it clears out the cached data. Can you please restart your phone to get out of safe mode and try it again?

How come it's a third party app? My other Xperias always had it right from the very first boot. I never needed to install it, so I assume it's actually a Sony app.

Still not working, even after safe mode.

You can add small apps from the small apps menu. There is an option on the top right.

Yes, that's fine. Make sure you are not in Safe Mode while you do this.

Does your browser work over wifi? My browser diplsplayed the same error but worked over wifi and not mobile data. I tried to reason and i decided to enable background data which was disabled. I realized that disabling background data the browser was able to work over mobile data. Is your background data disabled? If yes, enable it and try using the browser again.

I had the same issue as AX2_, and I followed your instructions, so I uninstalled the browser small app.

Surprisingly, when I wanted to install it again, there was no browser app after I was redirected to google play .... Every kind of small apps were there, but no browser app.

Please help me with this, because the browser small app was very useful for me.

Hi AX2,

Just saw your question after browsing the same issue as you seem to have. In case you have not solved it yet, I thought I would tell how I succeeded in solving it.

I usually have my Z5c in stamina mode, and naturally I tried to open the small browser in that mode. Only message I got was net: ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

Then, after looking around at the app permissions a while without finding anything useful, I turned off the stamina mode and attempted to open the small browser again. This time it worked. I double checked it, in order to make sure this solved it, by turning on stamina mode and re-opening the browser again...same error.

So it seems like the small inbuilt browser only works with the mobile in full battery mode, without any battery saving modes like stamina or ultra stamina.

Stamina Mode is making this issue.. set it to auto mode or Never (turn off) stamina mode.

Settings>Battery> Stamina mode

I have experienced this and I don't if it's helpful nut try turn off stamina mode off because that's what did the trick and if does not work try turn off Bluetooth
