Sony HVR-A1E

I have used my Sony HVR-A1E for many years . I recently got a new computer built running windows 10 to do my video editing. (Pinnacle studio 24 ) I use the firewire and have a StarTech 2 port pci 1394a firewire card fitted.

I have loaded the windows 1394 legacy driver but unfortunily the camera does not seem to connect.

i use a DLR for my main video and use the Sony HVR-A1E as a static camera when shooting video.

i have tried to get advice from Sony but because I have not got a receipt and the camera is long out of warranty this have provide difficult. (which is far enough)

i don't want to have to ditch the camera as it is still a great unit

any help would be appreciated

FireWire does not need a Driver, have you tried to capture the Video with a program? You can also try with WinDV ...
