I'm looking to upgrade my old head unit, which works with an RM-X2S rotary remote. The RM-X2S looks pretty identical to the RM-X4S.

The head unit I'm looking at is one of the iPod in-tray units, compatabile with the RM-X4S.

Will it work with my old RM-X2S? It's less the cost, more the hassle of having to remove and install a new remote. Would be handy if I can just release the old head unit and slide the new one into the DIN bracket.

John

UPDATED

There were a couple of posts on this topic on other forums, but nothing was clear, so I took the plunge and replaced my old unit with a DSX200. The old RM-X2 seems to work fine with most of the functions - volume, mute, source, radio present change and track forward/ back on the iPod. I've not found a way of getting the remote to select different albums/ artists from the iPod.

Message was edited by: jofletc9898

Message was edited by: jofletc9898
