Sony mex-n6000bd no sound through speakers after install

Hi I have just installed a Sony mex-n6000bd DAB car stereo in my E36 bmw. The stereo powers up and I can select all sources but no sound or beeps come through speakers. I have checked all wiring many times and even reinstalled old stereo which has sound through speakers.

Is is there a reset I need to do ? I have removed rear cable and fuse and reinstalled but no joy!,,

can an anyone help please?

Hi @saabedi and welcome to the community,

It might be that your car has an integrated amplifier that's not working because it’s not being triggered by the car stereo. Could you check your old stereo to see if it has an additional cable that might control the integrated amplifier and that’s not yet connected to your new Sony stereo?

omg you are so right I didn’t know I had an amplifier so did not connect the remote wire. I have now attached the remote wire and it’s all working great.
