Sony a5100 set up - Image database file not found

Hello, I just purchased a Sony a5100 camera and went to set it up, inserted memory card, charged up and encrypted on PC etc but when I turn on the camera the following keeps appearing: " Image database file not found. Create? Required time : 00.00.22 Enter Cancel" Whether I click enter or cancel it brings me to shoot mode but doesn't save the images. Is this an issue with the memory card? Its a brand one though never used. Your help would be greatly appreciated please.

Hi Nic, Thank you for your help. I tried your steps nd got the following: "image database file recovery failed." When I plugged in my camera to my laptop originally it asked to encrypt it so I followed the steps to encrypt it. This took half hour or so. Kind regards, Lisa

Hello @LisaSony123,

the encryption would be new to me - probably a third party software you have installed on your PC.

Format the card in-camera and see if it works then.
