VCL-E07A Wide angle Cap Compatibility

Hi I have just taken delivery of my new HRD-CX730E. I ordered the VCL-HGA07B wide angle converter with it. When I opened the camcorder box I found an accessories leaflet with the VCL-EO7A cap in it. I have not seen this before so the question is will it fit on my new HDR-CX730E and be OK. I only ever want to shoot wide with the camera on my multirotor camera platform and if the VCLEO7A will work its a lot lighter and a third of the price to do the same job.

Hi Dave

The E07A is a discontinued item, so compatibility with new cameras is very hard to check.

I would suspect it wouldn't fit but you may have to find one bafore you can be sure

Odd its in the accessory leaflet in the box with the new camera. I found one on Amazon. Guess I will have to be the crash test dummy AGAIN!

Well YES I AM THE CRASH TEST DUMMY!

JUST SO EVERY ONE KNOWS IT DOES NOT WORK WITH THE CX730E

Its on its way back to Amazon. Why it was in the accessory book that came with the camera is a mystery, even more of a mystery there does not seem to be a copatibulity tabel anywhere to say waht works with what so for most of the time you are left guessing... Oh and spending money to find out the hard way!
