If i purchase a cybershot digital camera, what would be the difference in movie making through cybershot digital cam and handicam?

Yes and no. It depends on what you exactly want to do. If you just plan to record a home video then I would say there would not be much difference in terms of viewing on playback however if you want to actually want to have more control over your aperture, quality etc then I would say a Handycam. They are larger and easier to hold so in theory more fluid with hand held motion also.

I would break it down as follows, for quick recordings I would go for a Cybershot but if you plan to do more and more video work, I would opt for a Handycam.
