I want to edit my footage using Studio but have just found out that it is not compatible with the M2TS format.

Is there any recommended software to convert M2TS to AVI?

Out of curiosity, why avi? I'd look instead to use h.264 & .mp4 as it offers better compression and compatibility these days.

I haven't done much editing in a while so I will look into h 264 & mp4.

I didn't know about Sony Movie Studio - looks ideal.
