FDR-AX33 stabilisation system disappointing

I have the FDR-AX33 with the "balanced optical steady shot" system. I saw this product demonstrated at Sony and the system worked impressively. However, now, in the real world it is disappointing - videos are no more stable than any other camera and the smallest movement shows rather than being absorbed by the stabilisation system. Has anyone found an answer to this? Thanks
