Hi all,

My 730 is having issues focusing when pushed on optical zoom...even though I'm using Auto setting. It seems to be blur at full optical zoom. Also, the lense seems to be jumping to one side when becoming steady. I feel I have a problem but wonder if anyone else has had these issues?

around 100 yards...

filming a march for armistice.

Yes...filming at full optical zoom at around 100 yards (90m).

Upon first reading your post, I assumed you tried to focus on something very close (like a macro-shot).

Then I would simply have told you, that the camera needs to have a minimum distance of 1.5 to 2 meters from said object.

Yet with that distance, that sounds like a defect to me. Unless you have activated manual focus somewhere in the menu (I have never used the camcorder you have, so I am uncertain where exactly the option is located in the menu).
