I have a Sony Video camera DCR-PC5E serial number 76463,I opened the Cassette,but when closing,it won't return,can't therefore close the Cassette housing door.It is marked "Do not push in the compartment".How do I get the Cassette to return?

Hi martinbratcliffe,

I won't really recommend pushing the door hard not to cause physical damage to the camera. I found an illustration showing how to open/close the cassette on page 19 of the Manual: https://bit.ly/2YIzKx1. If it still won't closeI believe it needs to be repaired. Usually these products are sent to Sony Central services. Their number is 01656867347.

Thanks for your comment.I managed to get my DCR-PC5E working again.
I was advised by Sony to take the Film Cassette out ,and not return it for a least
One hour.Sure enough, when I put the Cassette back in and closed the door, the mechanism
Functioned again & the whole cassette mechanism returned, and I could close the outer door once more.
I am happy to say that my Camera is working again.
