Windows 10 update causing problems with trimming function on playmemories home

I have been using Playmemories Home to edit recent video footage without any problem - until my computer asked me if I wanted to install updates for Windows 10.

Since then although the software allows me to select the footage I want to edit, allows me to go to the Trim Video option and allows me to select my required 'in' and 'out' points on the footage, when I click on the 'Save edited video' button the processing bar comes up briefly and then an error message 'Unexplained error found' pops up and the save is aborted.

Clearly it's a glitch created by the wretched Windows 10 update, but I can't solve it.

I've uninstalled and re-installed PM Home in the latest v.6 64 bit version but this hasn't helped.

Any ideas?
