Hi

Congrats on buying a pentium M, the next step up from pentium 4. This processor has performance equal to or greater than pentium 4 while consuming less power and generating less heat.

This processor has enhanced Speedstep so it will change its frequency and its voltage dependent on workload. Now this processor has a 1MB L2 cache, a high speed bus and a short internal pipeline and so it performs faster than its raw clock speed indicates.

I suggest downloading Mobilemeter here . This should show your processors frequency as it changes. It will also show you the very low temperatures this processor runs at.

In power options - set Vaio Optimized, it should show adaptive under CPU control.

Hope this clarifies what your processor is doing. Better than my Pentuim 4:smileycool:

It works like a charm even with Vaio Power Scheme turned off and when running with 2GHz.

Thank you very much for providing the link to "MOBILEMETER".
Everybody should try it!
