topic Bluetooth Speakers Pairing but no Sound in PCs & Accessories

I currently have a Sony Vaio VPCEB4E4E and recently got bluetooth speakers to use with the laptop. After downloading new drivers I have now managed to pair the speakers to the laptop, however now I can get no sound to play out of them. The computer will only play through the onboard speakers, or then not at all.

Once I enable the speakers, the volume control button along the taskbar changes to an X, and when I click on the icon I get a window which 'Detects Problems' for playing audio. However, when I try and trouble shoot my speakers, it simply says the device is disabled, which as far as I'm aware it definitely isn't. Even if I press Fn+F3/F4 with the speakers enabled I cannot toggle the on-screen sound bar more than one bar up and down.

Does anyone have any ideas at all as I am currently tearing my hair out searching the internet for a solution?

Thanks.
