Sony Vaio black screen, but tried most solutions to no avail

Long story short is that yesterday, my computer restarted on its own for a windows update. When I returned to the computer it was stuck on the black screen. So I tried restarting it, it showed me the VAIO sign, then flashed back to the black screens so I tried a ton on solutions recommended online to no avail, and then I managed to boot it into safe mode. Still stuck in back screen and I can't get it to respond to any command except for to shut on/off. Please help all of my notes are on this computer and I really need it. Thanks!!

Which version of Windows are you running? Is this a Windows 8 black screen issue?

Please give us your Vaio model so someone has enough information to try to help.

I am indeed running windows 8. Also, my vaio model is an SVF. Thanks and sorry for the confusion!
