Second screen resolution & blurry windows (Vaio Pro 13)

Hello

I have recently bought a Vaio Pro 13 and like it so far..

Lately i have stumbled across some problems.

1. When i plug in an external monitor (through an VGA/HDMI adapter from sony) the resolution is very low on the external monitor. It cannot be changed, and when i go to settings the resolution is at it's highest. I have to restart my computer to achieve the right resolution, very inconvenient! Also, it take too long for the external monitor to recieve the signal from the computer when the lid is closed.

2. I experience that programs sometimes have blurry fonts. Mostly while installing programs but also when using for example chrome. I don't know if it's the screen or the graphic driver..

Have anyone else had the same problems?

First problem indicates that there's something funny woth the graphic drivers.

Second problem (assumingly it's Win 8.1, is it not?) can be resolved by following this :
