How do I restore my laptop to factory settings?

Hi I have a model SVF1521Q1EW and ever since I added a new wifi connection wifi doesn't work at all! And also the guest account doesn't show so I just want to put it to factory settings and restart it all over again. I've booted it and repeatedly pressed f10 but nothing happens and I can't put it back to factory settings through the actual laptop. Help please!

Hi Sachaaleigh,

The function key shortcuts no longer work at boot with Windows 8. You need to press the Assist key when fully shut down to launch Vaio Care Rescue.

From Sony Support:

Performing a System Recovery outside of Windows (This is only for Windows 8 Preinstalled models)
1.    Confirm that the PC is off
2.    Press the “Assist Button”
Please refer to the User Guide Manual to locate the “Assist Button” for your personal computer
3.    VAIO Care Rescue Mode will now launch
4.    There are 6 options to choose from:
a.    Recover or maintain your System [F10]
This options allows the user to perform a system recovery back to factory condition
b.    Start from media (USB device/optical disc) [F11]
This options allows the user to boot from a CD/DVD or from a USB device
c.    Start BIOS [F2]
This options allow the user to enter BIOS and made modifications to their system
d.    Shut down [F4]
This option will shut down the Personal Computer
e.    Start Windows [Esc]
This option will allow the user to boot into Windows
f.    Select language [F1]
This option will allow the user to select a different languages
5.    Select “Recover or maintain your System [F10]”
6.    Select the keyboard layout at the “Choose your keyboard layout” menu
7.    Select “Troubleshooter” at the “Choose an option” menu
8.    Select “Recovery and maintenance” at the “Troubleshoot” menu
9.    Select “Windows 8” at the “Recovery Tool” menu
10.    VAIO Care Rescue Mode menu will now appear
11.    Select “Start recovery wizard”
12.    Select “ Skip rescue”
13.    Select “Yes, I’m sure.” and then select “Start recovery"
