Limited connectivity and dissconnect

New sony laptop for xmas and connection drops with "limited" appearing in wireless strength box.

Other laptops in house are fine. My router is 8 feet away in same room.

Turned off power save etc. Did all the easy fix options to no avail.

If someone can post and paste a fix using EASY stuff for non computer expert like me that would be fabulous.

Most dissappointed.. my last laptop was 12 years old.. tired and so was getting myself a treat... I already miss its noisy fan as I never had this problem.

Connection can be restored by dissconnecting , turning on airplane mode then doing the reverse to reconnect.

help please.. contacted shop and they said this is a windows 8 issue and nothing to do with SONY so nothing they can do.

Hi iansythes you haven't said what Sony laptop you have but I would suggest checking if there are any updates available for your Vaio. Updates can be found by entering your Vaio model number into the box on this link.

from the second url i tried the 2. Wake up your Wi-Fi Adapter and the 3. Enable Download over metered connections

until now everything looks fine ... i have 2 days to see the "Limited connection" ...
