Switchable graphics issue, Sony VPCSB1V9

Hi all,

I have reinstalled MS Windows 7 to my computer, including all the latest drivers, but switchable graphics don't work. It is computer identifies both graphic cards Intel and AMD, but hardware switch don't turn on AMD card. Do you know, which update could help to fix this issue? Or maybe there are some other tricks.

Technical Computer info:

Model: Sony Vaio VPCSB1V9

OS: MS Windows 7, 64 bit

Integrated video card: Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000

Additional sitchable video card: AMD Radeon HD 7400M

Hi Demqarij and welcome.

Have you reinstalled the original Sony OEM Operating System or made a clean install of a retail version of Windows 7? Which drivers have you installed?

Switchable graphics requires the original Win7 AMD/Intel Hybrid Graphics driver. Individual drivers will not allow switching.

Thanks for the wellcome message and your reply. Seems finally somebody has an idea how to solve this issue

I didn't have Sony EOM OS, thus made a clean install of a reatil version of Win 7 and latest AMD/Intell drivers from manufacturers website. Do you know where I can find the original Win7 AMD/Intel Hybrid Graphics drivers, which will enable switch?

I have found this website http://sonyvaiodriver.com/sony-vaio-vpcsb1v9eb-windows-7-64-bits-drivers/ and I downloaded Graphics Driver (AMD) – 8.862.4.2000, but I don't see Intel driver, only Preinstalled Drivers and Utilities – Graphics Driver, but it seems for ATI.

Yesssss, I did it, old files from the link above worked and now I can use switchable AMD graphic card. I was looking for this solution for several months. AMD, Intel, Windows, Sony were not able to help me their suggestions didn't work, thanks to this forum!!!

The only hybrid driver available for download from the support website for your model is here:-

I think this is the original driver installed when this model was made.Is this the one you installed?

There may be more up to date hybrid drivers available for other models but you would need to search. I can see an AMD RadeonT HD 7670M and Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver for the SVZ-Series Vaios.
