Problem with drivers vgn-c2z/b on windows xp

Hello,

Yesterday i bought a vgn-c2z/b and I want to run windows xp on the machine.

This is the list of the missing drivers for windows xp:
- network controller (it is wireless controller, because i can connect with the cable: LAN, so wireless is the one I need)
- PCI device (don't know what it is)
- SM Bus Controller (don't know what it is)
- UGX (don't know what it is)

I search on the forum and I found that the drivers for c1z are good for the c2z, but I tried and the 4 drivers I named above are not the right drivers.

Can somebody help me?

Hello again,

Now the wireless internet works (network controller) and SM Bus Controller works (it is the chipset).

Still: PCI Device and UGX.

Also I have no sound, but the drivers of the sound device are installed.

Some one an idea of the two devices and also the sound device?

UGX is the Bluetooth Driver, not sure about the PCI Device.

Usually by downloading the Original Drivers Package for the C1Z and extracting the files to a new folder C:\Drivers, you should be able to install all devices from Device Manager by right-clicking on it, choosing Update Driver, Don't Search (I will choose the driver to install), Have Disc, and manually browse to C:\Drivers. The only driver that is different is the Camera Driver - you will need to keep your existing driver that works for both XP and Vista.

You will need to install Microsoft Hotfix KB835221 - The UAA High Definition Audio Driver. XP does not support High Def Audio without it.

Thanks for the help, but still got 2 problems.

First: the UGX driver doesn't work (I've tried the bluetooth driver of C1, but when I installed the laptop asked to put the bluetooth stick into the computer and then I click OK and he said that there is no bluetooth device).

As last: you have some buttons on the laptop (for exemple: the volume buttons (minimize and maximize) and the screen buttons (more light on the screen or less light on the screen). The buttons are used in combination with the 'FN' button.

Can some one help me?

Hi xebe,

Have you run the Setup.exe in the C1_Drivers\Drivers\Bluetooth folder?

The Fn keys are controlled by the Sony Utilities. Download the Original Utilities Package for the C1Z, Extract the files to C:\Utils. In each of the Utilities Installers you will find a Setup.exe - run this for the utilities you require.

For the function keys you need: -

1. Sony Utilities
2. Sony Shared Library
3. Vaio Event Service.

Hello,

I've tried the setup.exe for the bluetooth device, but when I tried to install I get the message: "Please plug in the Bluetooth device and click OK button." The bluetooth device is on, because my WLAN is also on, but he ask it every time.

After installing the utilities, I've tried the bluetooth driver again, but still it doesn't work. The message I get while installing: "Please plug in the Bluetooth device and click OK button."

Also, when I start my computer I get the question to run 2 programs (window like the one for installing): SkyTel.exe and alcmtr.exe. What must I do with these processes?

Guys to install the drivers for UGX (bluethoot) for Sony Vaio VGN-C2Z/B , you need to download at this link Bluetooth Driver (UGX)
Atention, you must install the driver for windows vista at windows xp :smileygrin: .

I have this driver at Windows XP SP2.
