I recently decide to re-format my laptop (VGN-NS38E) and install a clean legal copy of windows 7 32bit instead of upgrading from Vista that was pre-installed on my system. (I have the feeling that upgrading from Vista makes my laptop slower). Even though I downloaded and installed all neccesary drivers and software from Sony and everything works fine, the Pro MagicGate slot isn't recognized. The SD slot works fine. So the only problem is the MagicGate. My device manager shows only one unknown device with the title 'basic system device', and the update option comes with no results. Windows update still finds nothing so I searched all the web for a solution.Nothing there too. Does anyone know something about this?
